Amsterdam Mayor Femke Halsema said at a press conference that the explosion at a school located in a prestigious residential area on the south side of Amsterdam caused only limited damage, and that police and firefighters quickly arrived at the scene. In neighboring Belgium, an explosion caused damage to a Jewish school in Amsterdam that occurred early on Saturday. The city's mayor described this incident as a "deliberate attack on Jews". There were no reports of injuries.
